Dzongsar Institute, a prominent institution for Buddhist philosophy, is in
Bir Village in the
Kangra Valley of
Himachal Pradesh. The institute has an intensive study program. In addition to Buddhist philosophies, the students learn logic, grammar, the vows of novice monks and poetry. Texts such as Bodhisattvacarya, Prajna Mula, Madyamika Avatara, Pramana Yuktanidhir and Abhidharmakosha are included in the syllabus. Daily debating sessions are organized. The campus has a temple, three halls, library and accommodation facilities.
