Durrie is a floor covering made in
Madhya Pradesh. It is a thick cotton woven fabric. The art of durrie making is mostly concentrated near Sironi. The durries are mostly made by women in their home, using in the ‘punja’ technique. They are usually in bold patterns and bright colors with folk designs. Patterns of durries generally consist of geometric traditional motifs and animal and human figures.
