Dungi




A place of archeological importance, Dungi is 95 km from the famous Daringibadi. This place, 5 km from Tikabali, is the only archeological site of Kandhamal District.

Dungi was a Buddhist site ruled Bhaumakara Dynasty during 8th and 9th century. The remains of this dynasty are still seen here. Later, this became a Shaivite center during the patronage of Somavamsis. The ancient temples of Lord Shiva and Shivlinga scattered around the place reveals its history. Kandhamal is 211 Km from Bhubaneswar.
