About 4 km south of Salem, Dumacem is a town in North Goa District. Ozorim is 3 km north and Advolpal is 4 km south. Nadora, Pirna, Ibrampur and Latambarcem are other prominent places nearby.

Maem, renowned for the Mayem Lake, is 2 km away. Shri Devi Sharvani Temple (dedicated to Goddess Shravani - an incarnation of Goddess Parvati) and Lamgao Caves are ideal tourist options.
