Dr M Balamurali Krishna




Mangalampalli Balamurali Krishna is a multi-faceted personality and a Carnatic music maestro. He is also expert in playing musical instruments such as violin, veena, and mridangam. Born in Andhra Pradesh in 1930, he made his debut performance at the age of eight. His parents too were musicians. He has created several new ragas including Mahati, Manorama, Rohini, Vallabhi and Sumukham. For his incredible contributions as a classical musician, playback singer, music director and actor, the Government of India has honored him with the prestigious Padma Vibhushan Award.
