Domjur




Domjur, also spelt Dumjor, is a taluk headquarters of Howrah District and is about 12 km north-west of Howrah, the district headquarters. It is about 3 km to the east of Rajapur and at about the same distance north of Bhandardaha. The place is famous for its Domjur sarees.

Dye plant at Domjur, one of the most sophisticated dyeing plants in India, is situated about 8 km away from Kolkata.

Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport serves Domjur. Liluah Railway Station is the nearest rail access and the major railway station is Howrah Railway Station.
