Dolavedi

An open air museum, Dolavedi is at the northern end of Laxmi Bazar, 3 km from Puri. The main attraction is an elegantly carved black stone arch at the top of a beautiful altar. A large number of tourists visit here to see the procession of miniature images of Jagannath taken to this place, for celebrating the Swing Festival on the full moon day of Falguna (March). The Swing festival is celebrated to commemorate Lord Krishna's sports with Radha at Vrindavan. The nearest railhead Puri is easily reached from the city center.
