Dingei Hill, located near the
Umiam River, is an ideal site for exciting trekking expeditions. There are two routes to reach this hill from
Shillong; one is through the Umiyangka and the other is through Barapani on the G S Road. From the top one can see the
Ri-Bhoi District, which lies 300 ft below.
On the top there is a big cup shaped hole, believed to be the crater of an extinct volcano. October - November and March - April are the best time to visit here.
