Dikchu




Dikchu, also spelled Dickchou, is located in East Sikkim District in Sikkim. It lies near the district’s border with North Sikkim District. It is around 20 km north of Gangtok.

Dikchu lies at an altitude of 4,685 ft and is rich in natural resources such as copper and zinc. The place also experiences the maximum rainfall. Teesta, a major river in the state, flows through the town. The physical features of Dikchu, makes it an ideal destination for various adventure activities such as river rafting, hiking, biking and cycling.

Nearest airport is Civil Enclave Bagdogra in Bagdogra. Nearest railhead is Darjeeling Railway Station.
