Dibang Wildlife Sanctuary



Dibang Wildlife Sanctuary is a perfect place for wildlife enthusiasts in Dibang Valley District of Arunachal Pradesh. The sanctuary was established in 1991, with the aim to guard the wildlife in the upper areas of the district.

The sanctuary, spread over an area of 4149 sq km, is famous for rhododendrons, orchids and exotic animals. It protects musk deer, serow, takin, goral, black bear, red panda and leopard. Dibang Wildlife Sanctuary is also a habitat for monal, tragopan, kalij and pheasants.

This sanctuary lies northeast of Anini, the district headquarters. Pawan Hans Helicopter Service connects Anini to Itanagar. The nearest major airport is Dibrugarh Airport. Tinsukia Junction Railway Station is the nearest railhead.
