Dhauliganga River




The 82 km-long Dhauliganga River is an important tributary of Ganges River. It rises from Niti Pass at about 5,070 m in Chamoli District of Uttaranchal and flows through Darma valley. Rishi Ganga River meets Dhauliganga at Raini, around 25 km from Joshimath. Dhauliganga River merges with Alaknanda River at Vishnu Prayag. Tapovan, a sacred place, is situated on the banks of Dhauliganga River.
