Dharmapuram, a place with religious significance, is 2 km west of
Karaikal, in
Pondicherry.
It is noted for the famous Sri Yazhmurinatheeswarar Temple, which was visited by Thiru Gnanasambandar. He sang a Pathigam (holy hymn) in honor of this temple.
