Dharmabad lies 14 km north-east of Kondalwadi, right on Nanded District’s eastern border with Adilabad District of Andhra Pradesh. Mudhol is 10 km north-east while Basar is 12 km south-east, both on the other side of the border. Biloli is around 20 km south-west.

The 17th century Hazrat Nawab Sarfaraz Khan Sahid Masjid at Biloli is a historic site with considerable tourist interest. The famous Saraswati Temple at Basar, Kawal Wildlife Sanctuary and Pranahita Wildlife Sanctuary are tourist options in the neighboring Adilabad District, within easy access from Dharmabad.

Hyderabad Airport serves Dharmabad. Dharmabad Railway Station is on the Mudkhed-Secunderabad rail line of the Southern Railways.
