Dhalai District




Dhalai District, the youngest district in Tripura, has its headquarters at Ambassa. It is named after the Dhalai River flowing across the district south to north. Most of the area is hilly and covered with forest. The major industry is the pineapple juice concentration plant situated at Nalkata.

Manu, Dhalai and Khowai are the important rivers. There are two main hill ranges: Longtharai in the east and Atharomura in the west. Longtharai Mandir and Kamaleshwari Mandir are the main attractions.
