Dhakauli

Dhakauli is a beautiful hamlet about 10 km from Chandigarh on the Zirakpur-Kalka highway, Patiala District. Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh guru, had visited this village in 1688 during a journey to Anandpur. Gurdwara Baoli Sahib is the major attraction. This is a magnificent shrine located on the banks of a pool, believed to have been formed when Guru Gobind Singh drove an arrow into the ground. Thousands throng here for special divans held on Amavasi. Apart from this, major Sikh anniversaries are celebrated with great fervor. The nearest railway station is at Lalru (4 km). Chandigarh Airport is the nearest airport.
