Devuthan

Devuthan is a noted festival in Punjab, observed on the eleventh lunar day in the month of Kartik. It is celebrated to wake up the Gods and Goddesses who are believed to go to sleep between the summer harvest and the first plowing after the autumnal rains. Metal plates are beaten to wake up the deities.
