Devaddhvani

Devaddhvani is an important festival celebrated in Assam. This festival lasts for 5 days, which includes the last 3 days of the Hindu month of Shravan (July-August) and the first 2 days of Bhadrapad (August-September).

This festival is celebrated in honor of Goddess Manasa (the serpent goddess), in the Kamakhya Temple near Guwahati. A special ritual called ‘Manasa Puja’ or ‘Maroi Puja’ is performed during this festival.
