Deskit




Deskit is a small settlement in Nubra Valley of Leh District, Jammu and Kashmir. It is at a height of about 10,751 ft above sea level and is to the north of Leh. Hundar in the west, Tiggur in the north, Liekzan in the east and Khardung in the south are the nearby locations.

The main attraction is the 15th century Deskit Monastery, founded by Lama Shesrab Zangpo of Stod. Gustor is the major festival celebrated here.

Deskit can be approached on the Mondari – Tirit route. It can also be reached from Lazing.
