Derebara, situated to the east of Kobak (15 km), Waitang (12 km) and Baga (10 km), is in
North Cachar Hills District. The Kopili River flows through the western part of this village.
Haflong Lake and Haflong Hill Station are the major tourist destinations close to Derebara. Other attractions such as Langting Mupa Reserve Forest, Barail Reserve Forest and Krungming Reserve Forest in the district are also accessible from here.
Silchar Airport (50 km) and Langting Railway Station serve Derebara.
