Dera Baba Banda is a major Hindu-Sikh pilgrim center, situated about 30 km
Katra and about 75 km from
Jammu, on the banks of
Chenab River, in
Jammu and Kashmir. It was built by Baba Banda Bairaagi, a favorite saint soldier of the 10th Sikh Guru,
Guru Gobind Singh. Baba Banda Bairaagi is said to have spent his last days here.
Regular buses and private taxi services are available from Jammu and Katra.
