Deokuli (also spelt spelt Dhekuli) is a charming hamlet located in
Sheohar District and is 19 km west of
Sitamarhi. According to the legend,
Draupadi, the wife of the
Pandavas, was born here.
The main attraction of Deokuli is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Every year on the eve of Mahashivaratri, a large and spectacular fair is organized here. People from the district and neighboring districts come here to take part in this event.
