Deer Park




Also known as Rustomji Park, Deer Park is located adjacent to the new secretariat of Sikkim. Established in 1962, it is named after one of the dewans of the Chogyal of Sikkim. The park has large enclosures in which different species of deer and other animals are kept. Animals native to Sikkim such as the Red Panda and the Himalayan Bear are kept in cages. A huge statue of Lord Buddha surrounded by flowering plants and a burning butter lamp is also present. Deer Park is around 126 km from Civil Enclave Bagdogra. New Jalpaiguri Junction Railway Station is around 150 km away.
