Dandeeshwaran Temple

Dandeeshwaran Temple is located at Velachery, a fast developing residential area in south-west Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The temple enshrines a swayambhu idol of Lord Shiva, known here as Dandeeshwaran, and Goddess Parvathi as Karunambikai - an embodiment of compassion.

Other deities worshipped here are Goddess Lakshmi, Goddess Saraswathi, Goddess Durga, Nataraja and Lord Ganesh.

Mahashivaratri is celebrated here amid much pomp and splendor.
