Damodar River



Damodar River rises in the Chota Nagpur plateau. It has many tributaries and flows east 368 miles (592 km) through West Bengal to join the Hooghly River south-west of Kolkata. Its valley constitutes the coal and mica mining fields, making this an industrial area.
