Dalal Street




Dalal Street, in the Fort area of Mumbai, is India’s answer to the Wall Street of the United States of America. It is the location of the Mumbai Stock Exchange and many associated financial institutions and establishments in the city.

The name of the street, meaning 'agent', has been derived after the numerous trading agents who are involved in hectic trading activities daily. Nowadays, 'Dalal Street' is often used synonymous with the Indian financial establishment in general.

Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is 27 km north. The nearest railhead is Churchgate Railway Station. Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) Railway Station is 6 km east.
