Dala



Dala is an indigenous tray of Assam, made from bamboo strips. It is used mainly in sericulture for breeding silk worms. It is also used by the local people for winnowing and other similar purposes.

The tray is woven in a twilled fashion. Shaped like a disk, it is made in variety of sizes. Its edges are strengthened by bamboo strips of about 1.5 inch thick.
