Dakmanda is a costume of the Garos in
Meghalaya. This dress is weaved by the Garos and worn by the Garo women. It resembles the ‘mundu’ or ‘lunki’ used in south India. It is a long unstitched cloth tied around the waist extending up to the knee. Dakmanda is hand woven and has a six to ten inch border with a motif or floral designs.
