Dah Parbatiya

Dah Parbatiya is an ancient village, situated near Tezpur, in Assam. This beautiful quaint hamlet is famous as home to the ruins of an ancient brick temple of Lord Shiva, which belongs to Ahom period. It is thought to be one of the oldest temples in Assam.

Some ruins have disclosed the best sculptural specimens. The temple walls were decorated with sculptures depicting various scenes from the epics and the life cycle of the people of that period. A shikhara of foliage with 'Amalaka' is seen and there is also a lotus-bud finial bordered by Gods and Goddesses.
