Dadri

Dadri, a village 5 km from Ballia town, holds a special place in Ballia District. This village is famous for Dadri Mela, the largest fair in the state, and a temple dedicated to Sage Bhrigu. It is at this village where Dardar Muni, son of Bhrigu, mental son of Lord Brahma, undertook penance.

Dadri Mela, held here on Kartik Poornima (October/November), attracts about one million people. The village bustles with life during this fair and there is largescale trading in cattle and other products.

Dadri is accessible by road from Ballia, which is well connected by road and rail with different parts of the state. Ballia Railway Station and Varanasi Airport are the nearest railway station and airport.
