Coronation Throne is situated in a small park next to the Norbugang Chorten above the village,
Yuksom. It was there that the first King of
Sikkim, Phuntsok Namgyal, was consecrated in 1641 AD. The event was carried out by three wise lamas,the Buddhist monks. A monastery and stupa has been built there to mark that historic event.
