College of Engineering Poonjar (CEP), started in 2000, is an institute of higher learning in Kottayam District. It is situated at Poonjar, about 4 km from Erattupetta and 14 km from Pala. The college is managed by Institute of Human Resources Development (IHRD), a Government of Kerala Undertaking.
Affiliated to Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), the college offers bachelor of engineering degrees in electronics and communication, information technology and computer science. It has a well stocked library with nearly 4000 text books, and a number of journals, magazines and news papers. Mechanical and electrical workshops, completely equipped computer labs, microprocessor lab and electrical machines lab are functioning well here.
Many well maintained private hostels with college control are available for students including boys and girls. Kottayam Railway Station is around 45 km away.
