Coin Museum is a small museum situated in the Indian Institute of Research in Numismatic Studies, in Nasik
. It is situated against the beautiful backdrop of Ajneri Hills. The main aim of the museum is to promote coin collection in India.
The museum has a fine collection of researched and well-documented history of Indian currency. The collection includes photographs, articles, line drawings and real coins. Dioramas depicting coin minting and coin manufacturing techniques, including casting and machine-striking are also on exhibit.
The museum provides a clear-cut picture of the evolution of currency system in India. Bronze, terracotta and copper-hoard objects and paintings are the other artifacts on display.
Coin Museum offers various workshops to promote coin collectors.
The museum is open from 9:30 to 13:00 hrs and 14:00 to 17:30 hrs daily, except Sundays and public holidays.
