Church of St Rita




Church of St Rita is located in Cascia at a distance of 4 km from the diocesean headquarters in Mangalore. Casciacho Gulob is the bi-monthly newsletter of the parish. St Rita of Cascia is hailed as the 'Saint of the Impossible'. Cascia chaplaincy was formed by separating some of the eastern areas of the Cathedral parish from Jeppu and Bappal. The new Church building, bell tower, presbytery, parish hall, marble Altar and the portico were constructed between the period 1935 to 1968.

Cascia parish came into existence on February 3, 1947. The 8 feet tall statue of St Rita has been brought from Italy. Cascia High School, St Ritas Girls School and St Johns School are run by the Church at Cascia.

Mangalore Central Railway Station and the Mangalore Junction Railway Station are the nearest railway stations. The Church is easily accessible by road from Mangalore.
