Church of St Francis Xavier is located in Bejai, at a distance of 2 km from the Diocesan headquartes in

Bejai was part of the Cathedral parish initially. In 1670, land was allotted by the Government for a cemetery and a mortuary chapel in this area. The present church was built in 1924 by Fr A E Colaco. Lourdes Central School was established in 1999 by the church authorities. A huge shopping complex was also constructed in 1999 to increase the income of the church.
