Chopta Valley is a high altitude picturesque valley in
North Sikkim District. With numerous rivulets crisscrossing, this virgin valley at an altitude of 13200 ft is another wonder in this land of wonders.
It lies west of Thangu Valley, which is an ideal base camp for the trek to Chopta Valley. During spring the valley is clothed in different hues and shades. The valley provides one of the few accessible places in Sikkim where one can actually walk over the frozen rivers. An adventurous trek through Chopta valley leads to Muguthang valley.
The valley is around 170 km from Gangtok.
