Cholamba Dance

Cholamba, a dance form of Ropa Valley in Himachal Pradesh, is performed when a tiger is killed.

Before the performance, the skin of the animal is stuffed, and a gold ornament is placed in its nose. After this, the people dance around the corpse. An attractive feature is that the dancers form a pattern of coiled serpent during the performance.
