Chittoor




Chittoor, the headquarters of Chittoor District, is 154 km west of Chennai. The temple town of Tirupati is 67 km north-east of Chittoor.

Kailasakona waterfalls, Puttur village, and Nagari hills are main the attractions in the city. Vallimalai, a Jain heritage site, is nearby. Chittoor is famous for mango and tamarind groves. The famous health resort of Madanapalle is northwest of Chittoor.

Chittoor lies on the National Highway 4 and is connected by road to Cuddapah, Nellore, Kanchipuram, Bangalore (183 km) and Chennai. Chittoor Railway Station is on the Chennai-Tirupati line.
