Chilling




Chilling, 3350 m high, is a small village in Leh District of Jammu and Kashmir. It is 70 km west of Leh and 19 km up the Zanskar River from Nimo.

Chilling is famous for its metal works in gold, silver, brass and copper. The residents here are believed to be the descendants of artisans brought from Nepal in the mid 17th century.

Drogulika to the west, Ezas to the north, Rumbak to the east and Skio to the south are among the neighboring places. A trek from Lamayuru to Chiling alongside the Zanskar River is popular.

By road, Chilling can be reached from Naerung, Rumbak and Sumdah through private vehicles.
