Chicharakhol and Sargikhol Caves

Located 3 km away from Hemgir station, this is a big rock-shelter measuring 100m by 5m, perched on a hill top. The wall paintings found here depicts events from the Neolithic period. There are also wall engravings portraying domesticated animals and cattle. Though similar to the Malikmunda rock shelter, the coloured pattern drawn on the walls here reflects an improved technique, noted for the use of different colours in the wall paintings. The caves are largely unprotected and certain script like paintings found here need further evaluation.
