Chhatru




Chhatru is a picturesque village located 10 km from Hamta in Lahaul and Spiti District. It lies at an elevation of about 3,360 m, on the ManaliChandra Tal Lake - Hamta Pass trek route in Lahaul Valley. Ruins of an old village can be seen around. Chhatru is surrounded by meadows. Chandra River flows nearby. It has a motorable bridge. The entire region offers panoramic views of Deo Tibba and the Indrasan Peak. Chhota Dara, Chandra Tal Lake, Chhika, Hamta Pass, Chhota Shigri Glacier, Chhika (16 km), Gramphu, Chhota Dara, Khoksar and Rohtang Pass are located nearby. It is an ideal base for trekking and mountaineering. PWD Rest House and camping ground are available.

Kullu Manali Airport at Bhuntar is the nearest airport. Joginder Nagar Railway Station is the nearest main railway station. Chhatru is connected by road to Gramphu and Manali.
