Chethalchattam




Chethalchattam is a traditional game in Lakshadweep. It is played using the seeds of the punna tree (Indian laurel). The shell of the seed is called minni. Seed shells stuffed with wood shavings are called aans. Aans are used as strikers. The contestants strike the minni placed in the middle of a circle of diameter 12 feet, with the aan.
