Cheta Singh Ghat, on the banks of the Ganges River
, is one of the significant spots in Varanasi
of Uttar Pradesh
Earlier known as Khirki Ghat, it was built by King Chet Singh, who fought a fierce battle against the British troops of Lord Warren Hastings in 1781.
This ghat has three Shiva temples, which date back to the 18th century. Budhwa Mangal, a seven day festival, formerly held here. The devotees are not recommended to bath here due to the sharp currents of the Ganges.
