Cheruthalam




Cheruthalam (Pemphis Acidula Forst) is a special type of tree grown in the Bangaram Island. It is mainly used as a raw material for Lakshadweep country crafts. The wood is also used for securing the planks of island boats. The inhabitants from other islands of Lakshadweep visit Bangaram Island for collecting Cheruthalam wood.
