Cherukunnu Annapoorneshwari Temple




Annapoorneshwari Temple is a famous religious shrine believed to have been constructed by Parashuram, the mythological creator of Kerala. The temple is situated at Cherukunnu in Kannur, 12 km from Taliparamba. Tradition recounts that Annapoorneshwari of Kashi (Benares) came to Cherukunnu in a ship with three maid servants and a number of their followers, and settled in the spot where the temple is now situated.

Kannur Railway Station is the nearest railway station. Calicut Airport is the closest airport. Raja Rajeshwara Temple, Trichambaram Temple, Kanhirangad Vaidyanatha Temple and Mazhoor Dharmikulangara Temple are the nearby pilgrim points.
