Chennakesava Swamy Alayam




Chennakesava Swamy Alayam is located at Madanapalle in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh. The deity worshipped here is Chennakesava Swamy, another name for Lord Vishnu. The temple is built in Vijayanagara architectural style. History says that the temple was built by Vijayanagara Kings, but neither the date nor name of builder is known. Outside the premises, stands a magnificient 60 ft high Deepasthambha. This temple has a high multi-storied tower, and the main door of the temple faces east. The temple has garbha griha, Antarala, Mukhamandap and Mahamandap.

A samll Devi Mandir is situated to its north.

Madanapalle Road Railway Station, on the Dharmavaram-Chittoor rail route, and Tirupati Airport serve this area.
