Chengamanad Mahadeva Temple




Chengamanad Mahadeva Temple, one of the main Shiva temples in Ernakulam, is located at Chengamanad village on the outskirts of Aluva Municipality in Ernakulam District.

Lord Shiva in the form of 'Kirata Murti' is the main deity worshipped. Lord Ganesh, Goddess Parvati, Lord Ayyappa, Goddess Bhadrakali and Lord Vishnu are the other main deities. An idol of Nandikesan is placed in front of the main shrine of Lord Shiva.

An annual 10 day festival is celebrated in the Malayalam month of Dhanu (December-January).

The temple is on the Mala-Aluva Road and about 3 km from the Cochin International Airport. Angamaly and Aluva Railway Stations are at distances of 7 km and 10 km from this place.
