Chenakesava Temple




Chenakesava Temple is situated at Belur. Built by the Hoysala King Vishnuvardhana, it is a monument of supreme architectural splendor. The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna.

The temple has intricate carvings on the stone walls. The interior of the temple contains many exquisite panels and richly carved pillars. Some 650 different figures of elephants surround the base of the temple.
