Chaurasi




Chaurasi is a small hamlet in Puri District on the banks of Prachi River and is 30 km from Konark. The place is famous for the 9th century shrine of Barahi. The mother Goddess with the face of a boar, Barahi is worshipped in accordance with the tantric cult. Chaurasi is also famous for the shrines of Amareswar and Laxminarayan and the village of Kakatpur is 14 km away.
