The important commercial center of
Bhadrak, Charampa is located on National Highway 5 near Bhadrak. This is also a famous Jain site in the district, which has yielded a large hoard of Jaina images during excavations. These images are now preserved in the Jayadev Orissa State Museum,
Bhubaneswar. Champara holds a special rank because the images found here are remarkably different from other Jain images found in
Orissa. In addition to the Jain images, a number of Brahminical divinities have also been excavated from here.
