Charadupinnikali, also known as Urikkali, is an art form prevalent in the districts of Thiruvananthapuram
. It is played as a part of Thiruvathira
, the women's festival of Kerala
. While performing this dance, the participants hold the cords hung at the place of performance. At the final stage of the play, these cords become a rough form of "URI" and later the URI is undone.
